Absolutely, Cognilab measures participant reaction time with millisecond precision. One of several techniques Cognilab employs is to pre-load all stimuli on the participant’s Web browser before the experiment even starts. This way, the participant’s reaction time is not affected by bandwidth or browser speed. In fact, once the experiment loads, it will continue to run natively if the Internet connection cuts out.
As a result, we are able to achieve reaction time between 25 to 35 ms based on the participants' computer operating system (OS) and keyboard refresh rate. Most web-studies do not require sub-25 ms reaction time, however, we will be releasing hardware integrations to achieve sub-5 ms reaction time for in-lab experiments.
